1. Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park displays more than 160 art pieces throughout 125 acres of natural beauty. From June 1 through September 10, these include the works of world-renowned sculptor Tom Otterness.

2. Outdoor Art in Downtown Grand Rapids includes 22 Tom Otterness sculptures along a two-mile stretch of sidewalks and pedestrian bridges, plus a self-guided walking tour of Outdoor Arts Inspirations: more than 50 sculptures, historic buildings and points of interest.

3. Grand Rapids Art Museum features more than 5,000 works of art in its permanent collection, all housed in a 1902 building on the National Register of Historic Landmarks.

4. San Chez, A Tapas Bistro is one of the 50 best Hispanic restaurants in the U.S. - and a perfect complement to a day of art, thanks to its handpainted tiles, Mexican artworks and beautiful food creations.

5. Grand Valley State University offers a self-guided art and garden tour with approximately 4,500 works of art.

6. Muskegon Museum of Art includes works by such masters as Hopper, Inness, Whistler, Homer and Wyeth, plus a full schedule of traveling exhibitions.

7. Shopping in Grand Haven includes art galleries, boutiques, one of the world's oldest kite stores and the Michigan Rag Company, whose handprinted resort wear is sold worldwide.

8. The Kirby House in Grand Haven is a delicious rest stop on your tour of the city. Choose from The Kirby Grill, a festive family-friendly restaurant; The Grill Room, a traditional style chophouse; and K2, a wood fired pizzeria.

9. Holland - named one of "America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation - is home to more than 100 downtown specialty shops, restaurants and galleries. Note the 21 bronze sculptures by artist George Lundeen lining its main street.
